Altia & Employees

At Altia, we want to build a working community in which our personnel feel well and can perform their work safely. We believe the success of our personnel leads to the success of the company, and the other way around. Recognising that each employee contributes to the atmosphere of the working community, we take pride in our relaxed company culture, which allows everyone to be themselves. Personnel development planning is an essential part of Altia’s strategy process.

Well-being of employees

Altia wants to support the motivation and engagement of its employees, for example through open communication about the company's vision and strategy and through enhancing equal treatment and equal opportunities.

Good leadership

All Altia employees are expected to respect each other’s rights to fair treatment and to act in accordance with the Altia Behaviours. These are Renew Bravely, Show Direction, Build Success Together and Implement!

Leadership development was also continued in 2018; for example through Let's Lead Better training.

Occupational health and safety

Altia’s occupational health and safety system in Finland has been certified in accordance with the OHSAS 18001:2007 standard. To highlight the importance of occupational health and safety, action plans have also been created for those Altia operating locations that are not in the scope of the certification (Tabasalu plant, the Cognac plant and the Brunna logistics centre). To achieve the objectives, key performance indicators have been set. A total of 85 actions were determined in 2018 for the various Altia locations. Of these, 70 actions (82%) were fully implemented in 2018. Implementation of the other actions is ongoing.
